Veld Music Festival took over Downsview Park in Toronto Aug 5th & 6th. Saturday faced some sketchy winds and cold temperatures – but rain remained at bay while ravers danced the night away to Tiesto, Future and a mashup of other top-tier artists. Sunday was absolutely gorgeous, and the crowd seemed to almost double in size compared to day one. Major Lazer (featuring Diplo) came out swingin’ as the event closer, with the largest crowd we’ve seen all festival season.
Throughout the weekend artists such as Future, Slander, Slushii, Dzeko, Asap Ferg, Ookay, Zedd, Migos, Tiesto, Major Lazer, Madeon, and Tchami blessed attendees with variations of high energy dance music, flame cannons, confetti blasters and big smiles. It would seem the organizers at Ink Entertainment were looking to shake things up a bit by adding some genre diversity to the lineup. Most fans were more than happy to bounce between the intense EDM and rap sets.
Ink has always been known to innovate the dance music scene in Canada and we can’t wait to see what Veld Music Festival will evolve into next year! Huge thanks to Tchami and the Veld team for having us out!
